Today I was enacting a scene in my head in which twins Nathan and Thomas have an argument. The trouble comes when their elderly grandparents and young children are also in the room, and they do not wish to be heard swearing and yelling the details of the argument for all to hear. So they switch to Italian which neither the grandrents nor the chilluns speak.
Now this would normally not be weird except I actually acted out their dialogue … in Italian.
So actually, though I know this is not what societal conventions would consider normal, I was extremely proud of myself because the conversation was both grammatically and conceptually correct in the foreign language. So yes, I now can officially consider myself tri-lingual 🙂
Who says acting out fictional scenes is useless?
